Day 17 – Toronto, Canada

Mom’s turn again: We spent the whole day walking, walking and more walking. My feet and legs are so tired, I don’t think three days on the train are going to give me enough rest, but I am ready to see.
Toronto is a big, busy, eclectic city and after spending the whole day walking in [...]

La Ville de Québec

Our vacation is nearing the end but we still have the train trip to look forward to. And believe me, we are looking forward to it. Dad is tired of driving and we are both tired of walking. I am tired of trying to find a place to eat that both satisfies our appetite but [...]

La Région de Mauricie

It’s me again. Dad is tired. He does all the driving and I do all the hopping in and out of the car, and he gets tired! Oh well, guess it is just cuz I am so much younger than him!
We are in a new B&B tonight, and I made a mistake in the reservation. [...]

La Région de Lanaudière

I told Dad that it was my turn to write, so today’s posting is from Mom.
Again, the weather could not have been more beautiful if we had ordered it ourselves. Our hostess at Gites sous les Frenes is so kind and gave us yet another interesting breakfast–an omelette with cheese and apples accompanied with toast, [...]

Mary gave us [...]

Plattsburgh, NY

Today was a genealogy day and while Dad and I did work at my genealogy, we did not get too far, but that is to be expected when I have already combed all the existing sources and am hoping to find something unusual to help me discover Joseph Massé’s origins.
Met Glora Cusson Pratt today and [...]

To Plattsburgh via Lake Placid, New York

Today was a travel day. We left Latham (Albany), New York, this morning and drove through the Adirondaks to Lake Placid. Actually, the town of Lake Placid is on Mirror Lake. We did not go far enough to see the actual Lake Placid, but found Mirror Lake to be beautiful.
The colors are just beginning to [...]

Albany, New York

Monday, 15 Sep, we arrived in Albany after a long uneventful day in airplanes. Sunday night, Dad crashed about 10pm but I could not relax until I had gotten everything ready, so got to bed at 11:30. Carefully set my alarm for 2:50am and climbed into bed. It was hard to relax but finally got [...]
