Pew Institute Releases Early 2007 Broadband Internet Adoption Figures. . .

757094_high_speed According to the Pew Institute’s Internet & American Life Project, nearly half of all American adults (47 percent) have broadband Internet connections in their homes. On a larger scale, 70 percent of all users of Internet in the home have a high-speed Internet connection.

Also of note in the report, 40 percent of African Americans have a high-speed Internet connection in the home. According to the Pew Institute, this figure has nearly tripled from the same survey taken in early 2005 (when it was a 14 percent adoption rate).
